Anne McMurray is the mother of Johnny McMurray and the wife of Bill McMurray.
She is a member of the Festive Fifty, a group which puts on a promenade during Sterling's Easter event. During that event, Anne is presumed dead; Evelyn even sent a condolence card. However, the story has two possible conclusions. One conclusion is that she was subjected to a voodoo drink that caused her to be in a trance controlled by whoever wielded a certain voodoo dagger. The other conclusion is that Dr. Duval caused her to overdose on tetrodotoxin, making her appear dead, and was blackmailing Bill with the antidote so he would drop a malpractice suit against him.
In The Third Eye Gang Adventure, Bill is missing and Sadie is determined to find him.
