The Stress skill suite represents Sadie's knack for defying dastardly desperadoes, slipping out of sticky situations, and prevailing (or at least surviving) in a pinch. It is similar to the Dream skill suite because of its connection to a score that can rise and fall -- in this case, Sadie's accumulation (through blunders, worries, and hair-raising escapes) and reduction (through more recuperative or relaxed activities) of Stress points. For every full 10 points of Sadie's current Stress level, the Expansion Bonus for Awareness, Dodge, Escape Artistry, Fisticuffs and Moxie is increased by 1.
While several of these have a fair number of applications in capers, don't forget that leaving Sadie's Stress level high during a caper will severely increase the difficulty of all Obstacles she encounters.

Stress Modifiers: The Role of Stress in Obstacle Difficulty[]
Stress greatly impacts obstacle passing values. It can be hard to determine exactly how much stress will impact each obstacle individually, but in general, a good rule of thumb is that it is roughly a one to one, two to one ratio. About every one to two points of stress will raise the obstacle difficulty by one for easy mode. As you increase the difficulty, stress will increase the obstacle difficulty at higher rates.
